Where the Black Line Binds Color and Time
Burning hearts, halos, serpents, thorns and flowers —Ksenia Sulaeva paints emotional mythologies through a symbolic, feminine language.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Ksenia Sulaeva’s work is a dynamic fusion of monumental painting and pop art, distinguished by bold compositions and a striking color palette. Her large-scale paintings command attention, inviting the viewer into a visual dialogue that transcends the boundaries of the canvas. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary themes, she creates artworks that are both timeless and distinctly modern.
At the core of her practice lies a deep exploration of human resilience, transformation, and the emotional spectrum. Her works capture the intensity of human experiences—joy, sorrow, and redemption—amplified through expressive brushstrokes and powerful imagery. A significant focus of her art is the feminine experience, depicting themes of strength, vulnerability, and identity.
Her visual language is further enriched by her admiration for the wild nature of Southern Spain and the lush landscapes of Estonia, where she currently resides. These influences infuse her works with warmth, richness, and a connection between human narratives and nature’s cycles of growth, decay, and rebirth.
Through color, scale, and storytelling, her paintings become statements on emotion, identity, and the ever-evolving human condition—a testament to both personal and collective transformation.
